THE QUESTION
Is the process of research communication broken?
In our 15 years of experience collaborating with 75+ clients around the world, we have come to question the effectiveness of research communication. Your team works hard for months, or perhaps years, before handing over content to professionals ranging from freelance designers to big agencies. Often, the brief is simply to "make things pretty". In some cases, this work is further outsourced to junior graphic designers or applied to cookie cutter generic templates.
Not with us! We ask questions.
“Who is your audience? Is there a call to action? Is your content too technical for your audience? Can we visualize this data to aid comprehension? Does your copy read well? Can the process and results be better represented?"
We aren't afraid to get our hands dirty. We engage with your content. We love information design challenges. If the project mandates, we bring in subject matter experts to help. Being intentionally small allows us to give our attention to a small number of projects in a year. The people you speak to are the ones who stay with you till the end of the project. No bait and switch. If we're not a good fit, we'll tell you upfront.
A lot of our ongoing client relationships span more than a decade. We believe in long-term partnerships to deliver impact.

MEET THE FOUNDER
For more than a decade, I’ve been helping organizations communicate their research better—whether through content strategy, data visualization, or visual storytelling. Since 2011, Figure&Plot (formerly Whitespace35) has been bridging the gap between technical detail and clear communication, with a focus on distilling complex ideas without diluting their essence.
An architect by education and an information designer by passion, I’m driven by a natural curiosity and a dedication to craft. I approach every project with care, aiming to deliver clarity in all aspects of my work. My clients often describe me as detail-oriented, easy to collaborate with, and highly committed to meeting deadlines through project management systems.
When I’m not obsessing over how to organize information, I’m spending time with my wife and two lovely daughters.
